Some civil society groups are up in arms over the government’s failure to recognize what many deem to be legitimate victories of independent candidates.

Groups such as the Civil Campaign for Election Reform and Take Back Parliament held a sit-in in front of the Prime Minister’s offices today in protest.

They were joined by some of the independent candidates such as Nadine Moussa (left) who have already claimed victory in uncontested races.

Parliamentarians have not taken the constitutional challenge put forward by these groups very seriously probably because they were not getting a lot of press coverage. But that seems to be changing:
