Yesterday I posted about the dangers posed to thousands of Syrian refugees living in tents across the country following last night’s downpour, the first of the fall season. Thankfully local channel Al Jadeed did a report (above) on those most vulnerable at Ayn El Hilwe camp, where some of the tents have collapsed and many spent the night soaked.

On the other hand I was disappointed that many news outlets have not covered this tragedy-in-the-making, which is only likely to get worse as winter arrives.

For example, the only mention I heard on tonight’s LBC newscast was from the smiling weather model, who briefly mentioned high precipitation rates.

She then showcased beautiful pictures from around Lebanon as LBC does every night.

Maybe someone from Ayn El Hilwe needs to send LBC some pictures of what yesterday looked like to them.
